Passed into law by Congress in 2004, the program provides up to $7500 in scholarship funds to approximately 1700 children who would otherwise be doomed to gang and drug infested academically deficient public schools run by incompetent union protected bureaucrats. The program has been operational long enough now for data to be in showing the effectiveness of the program. Only a liberal would need this explained.

Obama is sending his kids to a private school that's receiving scholarship kids and then revoking those scholarships makes him look even more like a scumbag than normal. But I guess the NEA paid good money to elect a Marxist and they deserve their money's worth. Oh sure, a few thousand more DC children will end up in jail, or dead, but you can't make an a socialist hell hole without fucking some children. The horror. These kids, given a chance, might learn hard work and studying leads to self reliance and personal responsibility, which means one less vote for the Democrats. Keep'em down, we can't have that.

Illegal aliens are to be detained and deported, nothing more nothing less. Politicians and their veiled crony "nonprofit organizations funded with taxpayer money" need to step down and shut up. Elected officials are obligated to enforce the law, what don't Reps. The so-called stimulus bill was nothing but a mass of Democrat pork projects they say will save jobs, but any jobs will be short-lived and hard labor. There is nothng in there for the private sector where 80% of jobs are created. That fact is the stimulus bill alone cost more tha Iraq, Katrina and Afghan during Bush combined. And Obama has 3-times more the amount to spend in pending bills for housing, more bank bailouts, more Afghan, college loans, health care for kids. The tax dodger in chief Tim Gietner has printed so much money, your toilet paper will be worth more than the dollar.This deficit is going so high the only way out will be hyper inflation (printing money) like the Nazis did to pay off their foreign debts.

However, the true fact of the matter is that our Congress has gotten way out of control and spending trillions of dollars more on things that will not help is criminal. There is absolutely nothing in this bill (which Congress did not even read) that will help the average citizen. Spending didn't work for FDR and it wont work now. Raising taxes doesn't work. Bush cut taxes and the tax revenues INCREASED by 13% and economic growth was 4%. Obama is doing the exact opposite.

Whether or not you approved of Bush, it was clear that he loved and defended the principles upon which our Nation was founded. While Obama may be a fine individual, his policies and programs are the antithesis of everything I believe has contributed to American exceptionalism. Simply put, while I wish him no ill, I hope each and every one of his initiatives dies the miserable death it's deserves.

Have any of you who support Nationalized Healthcare in the U.S. actually stopped to think about what this will involve? First of all, look at all of the problems we are having with any other such government controlled programs like Welfare and Social Security - Both in shambles. Now do you honestly want the same people responsible for that mess to pick your doctors for you and tell you when you have to have a checkup? Why are you willing to put your health and well-being into the hands of carreer politicians who essentially will be running the medical proffession and telling doctors what they can or cannot do?Now what of the people who choose to remain independant from Nationalized Healthcare? Have you stopped to think about how much insurance rates will soar.

HEALTH, happiness, and prosperity NEVER came out of any government program. Those are results of hard work and sacrafice. Nationalizing healthcare goes against anything and everything a free market stands for.

5 top reasons why I am against Nationalized Healthcare:

1. It limits your choices. Instead of going to a doctor near you, you will have to go to a doctor comes from an approved provider list. Not all doctors want to be on this list. Furthermore, many who might want to be, would not be included because they are in specialties which the government may not deem as "necessary"...like plastic surgeons, dentists, etc.

2. In many countries, and even one of our own States, where Universal Health care has been started, if has failed. There are many reasons, but one of them is because that people who could afford health care on their own, dropped their coverage in order to get on the "free" bandwagon. Even in President Obamas own State of Hawaii, it failed.Universal Coverage is not "free". While you may not be paying for it directly, the Government does, and it is through your taxes that it is funded. So-I guess you do ultimately pay for it through higher payroll taxes and income taxes.

3. Many pharmaceutical companies will not develop much needed drugs under this plan, because the Government will not pay them what they need to do so. So, Universal Coverage ultimately not only limits your choice of doctors, but the amount and variety of drugs needed to ensure your long term health. Also, many drugs you may have been able to get on your own through your family physician, may not be available under this plan. Drugs for hair loss for example, or those new trial drugs used to fight HIV or cancer.

4. The cost of medical school is very expensive. When you decided on a career, you did so with the reasonable expectation that you will be rewarded financially for your education and the personal sacrifice you endured while going to school. If you knew that your chosen career would not offer you the financial security needed to pay off those student loans, would you choose that career path? Of course not. And neither will future doctors and nurses. Since under Universal health care, a physicians income will limited by the Government, why bother in being a doctor? In several countries, Canada comes to mind-they now have a shortage of doctors and nurses, and are forced to hire them from other countries to fill the void. They work cheaper. But their degree of education may not be up to our rigorous standards. Do you really want your heart bypass done by a doctor trained in Zambia, who works for peanuts?

5. Speaking of that heart bypass, under Universal Coverage, there will be many procedures which the Government will not allow. Oregon for many years had a crude form of State health care. It had a long list of things not covered...much longer than those that were. That knee replacement surgery? If it is covered, you will only get one. So, if you have issues with both knees, tough luck. Need a cosmetic surgery to remove unsightly scar tissue, or to help cover the scars from that masectomy? Forget about it.

How about letting people buy insurance policies across state lines that tailored to their needs. Many states have laid out so many mandates that insurance prices are through the roof whereas other startes do not burden insurance companies with so many mandates.

Let's go back to the topic of Julio. MOST 19 year olds have crappy jobs at places like McDonalds. That is why you're in college, so that maybe in a few years you'll be qualified for a less crappy job. You work your ass off for low pay and no benefits-that alone should do is motivate you to to pursue something better on your own. NOT stand around asking the government to hand you a better deal on the backs of others. And as for healthcare, if he’s 19 shouldn’t he still qualify for SCHIP? You know, McDonalds offers health care. What Julio was probably asking for is health care that he didn't have to pay for. You know the health care that someone else pays for. Everyone in that crowd thinks "Free healthcare” = “National healthcare” and it just grows on trees. Of course, if anybody has to pay for it it should be the evil rich anyway.

What has happened to responsibility? This has got to stop. Since when I am responsible for other peoples lives? Why should I have to pay for someone's house? Car? Gas? Let alone anything else? Unemployment, Food Stamps, Public housing, Welfare, are all supposed to be safety nets, not hammocks. It's offensive to ask the government (really your neighbors) to pay for your house. I am sick of paying for everyone else's healthcare, retirement, food, etc, because they are a 'victim' of some sort or other. No one will work with this type of society. No one will take care of their family. Why should they? The government will take care of them. The bible says "If you don't work, you don't eat" and it doesn't add "Unless you're a 'victim' of racismsexismhomophobia." In other words-the government is playing 'god' and I'm sick of. We already know the government can't take of it's people. See the war on poverty, Detroit, the public schools, etc.

People didn’t have the option of suckling the government teat years ago. What would she have done then? It’s all about personal responsibility or the lack thereof, not being heartless. I have no problem being charitable, but I want it to be my choice where my money goes, not the government’s. Conservatives are the most compassionate people on the planet—all the studies indicate such. But, compassion does not equal me throwing my hard-earned money into a big pot for someone else to determine how best to spend it.

What has America learned? You can appear before The One, declare you are homeless, unemployed, ailing, whatever, and the liberals are all ready to pour somebody else’s money all over you without a grain of proof. By Friday, the unemployment rate will probably be 9%...

On a side note-Obama says Ft Meyers had the highest foreclosure rate in the country. Sure does, when the job market went bust the Mexican illegals high tailed it out of town, and left empty houses everywhere. By last count one area there had almost 20,000 foreclosures.

I notice Obama didn’t say why all the foreclosures were in this one area, where all the illegals were? I am left to wonder why...

The White House just announced they are suspending all off-shore and on-shore oil drilling. How many JOBS would that create? Better yet, how many jobs will be lost now. What will a gallon of gas cost in six weeks or six months. Obama cut off gas drilling in Utah, that already costs jobs.

Apparently, according to Barry, if we don't pass this stimulus package, America will cease to exist. Literally. It doesn't get much uglier than that. If we do not pass this stimulus package, the results will be an economy from which America 'may never recover'.

Now me? Personally? I don't think it'll get that bad. America, as have all nations through out history, will survive this recession. In fact, there are signs that the recovery has already started and the package hasn't even been passed yet. America, like ALL nations, will recover from an economic down turn.

Frankly, I think the guy would be better served if he'd just shut the heck up and let America deal with this situation. After all, no government has ever been the engine of the economy. No government has EVER created prosperity. That's our job. Just get out of the way and let us do it.

And lets be honest here- part of this is the old political game of lowering expectations so it’s easier to claim success.

Obama needs a full hour during prime time to sell his stimulus. We can bet this hour will be used to instill fear. Will he slam Bush and the Republicans again? Probably, he's been using the Bush excuse since 2004. My guess, he doesn't want us to watch Hannity.

We are now thirteen months into the current recession. Since World War II, none of the recessions that have hit the U.S. economy have lasted more than two years. Most have lasted 12 months. The new mega-injections of government “investments” championed by Obama are intended to “break the momentum” of a recession we’re probably more than half-way through suffering. The Congressional Budget Office crunched the numbers and concluded that a huge bulk of the federal spending orgy wouldn’t actually kick in until the recession is waning – if not already over.

Take a stand against Holder and the Obama-Pelosi false stimulus bill.

This plan is the old-style pork-barrel spending -- not stimulus:
• $6 billion for colleges/universities -- many which have billion-dollar endowments.
• $166 billion in direct aid to states -- many of which have failed to budget wisely.
• $50 million in funding for the National Endowment of the Arts.
• $44 million for repairs to U.S. Department of Agriculture headquarters.
• $200 million for the National Mall, including grass planting.

House Democrats’ plan will cost each household $6,700 in debt, which will be paid for by our children and grandchildren. Create or save 3 million jobs -- which means this plan will spend $275,000 per job.

It is crucial to recall the reality that lies behind the rhetoric. The media is still cocooned in a warm comfort zone of infatuation with America’s answer to god himself. We should be long past applauding politicians of any color. They got us into this mess. The best deserve a probationary opportunity to prove themselves, the worst should be in jail.

So Timothy Geithner gets to keep his job...

Maybe with all of Obama's corrupt dealings and associations it's possible that Geithner could have almost anything on Obama. But according to Obama, Geithner is the only one who knows how to get the economy out of trouble. I mean, it was just a simple 'oversight' right? Or maybe it takes a crook to catch another crook? Maybe with all that 'change' in Washington... If a tax cheat is the best America has to offer-we're in deep trouble.

This is just an early indication of the failures of this administration.

I emailed Senator Mitch McConnell and Senator Jim Bunning to express my disappointment with Tim Geithner as Sec. of Treasury. Obama promised changed (not like I ever believed him) and Geithner is the same. There continue to be different rules for those who have big bucks and the rest of us. In addition to not paying any taxes for four years until the IRS audited him, he also took his kids' camp expenses as a daycare deduction. His accountant told him he couldn't do that and needed to file an amended return - which Geithner didn't do. I am tired of the good ol' boy system of government. We need to hold Obama to the change in standards that he claimed he was going to provide and let's restore some honesty to our government. Geithner is an example of neither. He can't possible be the only "qualified" person in the country to be Sec. of the Treasury.

After reading various blogs concerning the newly appointed RNC chairman, it is quite obivious that the liberals/democrats assume that Michael Steele came out of 'nowhere' just like Obama did. The democrats/liberals have one example of a black man coming to power. He came out of nowhere and did nothing to get elected. I guess they just figured it was the same for all black men.

Unlike Obama, Steele has fought for everything he has earned in his life and he's been paying his dues for a long time. Hard work has paid off, and now he is the chairman of the RNC.

You know a good choice was made when the LMSM started to attack immediately. I just wonder how long it'll take people to start calling him 'Uncle Tom' or 'Chairman Token'. Let's not forget that before George Bush's administration, the highest ranking black to serve in the Executive Branch was the Sec. of Commerce.
